The DEFRO Optima Eko manually fed boiler is designed for heating single-family homes, holiday homes and renovated buildings. It provides high energy efficiency, low pollutant emissions and convenient operation. The appliance meets Class 5 requirements in accordance with PN-EN 303-5:2012 and complies with the Ecodesign Directive, confirming its environmentally friendly performance.

Performance and design of the bottom-combustion boiler

The model is made of certified steel sheet, while the water jacket is based on a durable steel structure featuring a multi-pass system of horizontal flue gas channels with turbulators.

The boiler heat exchanger, arranged in a vertical-horizontal configuration, improves heat transfer and reduces the emission of harmful substances. The combustion chamber is equipped with a fixed water-cooled grate and a movable ash-removal mechanism, which increases durability and facilitates cleaning.

Fuel types and operating flexibility

The large fuel-loading chamber enables longer operation between refuelling cycles. Seasoned firewood is the recommended fuel for the boiler.

Thanks to natural flue draught, the appliance does not require an electrical power supply. Compatibility with a heat buffer, domestic hot water tank or 4-way mixing valve allows integration with both gravity-fed and pumped heating systems.

Operating comfort and safety

The DEFRO Optima Eko manually fed boiler is equipped with a secondary air supply adjustment mechanism and can be connected to a draught regulator. This solution enables precise combustion control without the need for advanced automation.

The model can operate in both open and sealed heating systems, in accordance with PN-B-02413:1991, provided that the system is appropriately protected. Its simple design and intuitive operation support reliable, trouble-free use.

Environmental performance and compliance with subsidy programmes

The DEFRO Optima Eko boiler meets the requirements of subsidy programmes such as the “Clean Air” programme.

Its energy efficiency class confirms economical energy consumption and a reduced environmental impact. Low emissions and high thermal efficiency make this model an example of a modern solid-fuel heating solution.
